Highway Patrol Roblox: How to Drive the Police Car and Keep It Fueled

How to drive the Highway Patrol police car: follow the one-way highway, refuel on the low fuel prompt, use sirens to pull cars over, and fix a stuck car.

Driving the patrol car in Highway Patrol [Alpha] is simple in principle: the highway is one-way, so you get in, follow the road toward the hostage site at its end, and deal with whatever the mafia throws at you along the way. Keeping the car running is the real work — the tank drains as you drive, and the game tells you when to refuel. Here's how to handle the drive itself, the fuel stops, the sirens, and the occasional Alpha-build hiccup.

If you don't have a patrol car yet, start with how to get vehicles.

Drive the one-way highway toward the end

There's no route planning to worry about: the patrol runs along a single one-way highway, and your goal is to reach its end, where the hostages are held. The game shows your remaining distance as you drive — one session showed roughly 12.4 miles left, so treat it as a long-haul drive rather than a quick lap. Mafia gangs intercept players along the route, so expect interruptions; the mafia criminals guide covers who you're up against.

One helpful detail: you don't have to park to deal with a suspect. The driver can keep the car moving while handling an arrested person, so a stop doesn't have to stall the whole patrol.

Refuel when the "Low fuel" prompt appears

The patrol car consumes fuel, and when it runs low you'll see the prompt "Low fuel. Find a gas station." Refueling takes three steps:

  1. Drive to a gas station.
  2. Line the car up with a pump — either side of the pump works.
  3. Fill until the tank reports full.

A busy pump isn't a problem. Another player's fill can top up your tank too, so check whether your tank already reads full before you start pumping.

Toggle the sirens to pull cars over

The patrol car has an in-car button that switches the sirens on and off. With the sirens on, you can pull other cars over during the highway drive. From a stop you can question drivers and take things further.

A full patrol session shows the sirens, the stops, and the stuck-car fix in action:

Know the seats before you carpool

The police car has two seats, and a passenger sitting in the back appears to look like a prisoner. If you're patrolling with a second officer, it's usually better for them to take a separate cop car than to ride along looking arrested.

If the car won't move, exit and re-enter

Because the game is still in Alpha, cars can occasionally bug out. In one observed case, a player entered the patrol car and it simply wouldn't move — "I'm stuck here. Why can't I move?" Leaving the vehicle and getting back in restored movement. That's not a guaranteed fix, but exit-and-re-enter is the first thing to try when your patrol car refuses to respond.

Once you're comfortable behind the wheel, the beginner guide covers a full first patrol through to the hostage rescue at the highway's end.
